Changes in Atlantic City

Atlantic City has seen too many ups and down. While the city was very popular as a tourist destination, it began to decline since more and more people came here only for the day and the hotel industry started going into a loss. This is when the gambling laws of the state were changed in order to try and restore the city to its former levels of glory.

Political reasons
It is not a hidden fact that the tug of war between Atlantic City, Atlantic County and also the State of New Jersey is getting to be a huge problem. The development of the city is suffering immensely due to this problem. Despite giving high returns to the revenues of the area, the city is still not able to enjoy a good standard of infrastructure. The political parties in power presumed that the hotels and casinos in Atlantic City is what the city needed in order to boost its economy and therefore ignored the need for a sound infrastructure. This is why despite the hotels doing well, most of the employees here are paid poorly and the general aura of the place is not rich.

While there is still hope for the city since the New York State is trying its level best to revive the city even if it means pumping money into Atlantic City. However, what the future will bring for this city is not very clear as yet and one can only hope that things will get better over time rather than deteriorate further.
